Application Process

In addition to our ongoing internal development and launch cycle, Intilaq is accepting proposals from entrepreneurial technologists and business strategists and reviewing them, on a selective basis.

How do we choose who to mentor and fund? You and your fellow founders are what matter most to us. We look for brains, enthusiasm, and a drive to succeed. Experience is helpful but not critical. We hadn't started a job site before we started Bayt.com, but we've been successful. What we did have was an intelligent, committed, diverse group of founders.

Of course, your idea is important too, but mainly as evidence that you can have great ideas. Most successful start-ups evolve or make substantial changes to their idea. If you can come up with ideas then that's a great first step, but you need to be a great group with great individual and collective potential or else even the best idea probably won't be enough.

We are most interested in knowing more about you and your team, and also your idea. Of course, if you have a business plan then we'd like to see it. If not, all you need to do is send us some information and we can work on the business plan with you.

We are interested in ideas from two distinct groups of people:

1. Technologists - people with technical talent and a great innovative idea who want to start a company; and
2. Strategists - people with great business aptitude (e.g., operations, sales, marketing, business development, finance) who want to work with Technologist teams or individuals to build a great company.

Technologists Overview

There are great people who want to turn great ideas into great companies, and we want to help!

We are looking for the following characteristics:

• Team members who are all passionate, bright, and extremely motivated
• A potentially BIG idea - or at least the ability to think in terms of big ideas
• You can build a launchable product or service within 3-6 months
• Small teams whose talents complement each other

If you and your idea have these characteristics, we would like you to hear from you and look for synergies.

Strategists Overview

You've built and grown your business skills. You've gained experience bringing concepts to launch - or at least you feel like your experience to-date will help you do so. You have the determination, and maybe even the idea, but are not sure of the way forward. We can help.

We may have an internal project that fits your skills and interests, or know some technologist teams that may be the best fit for you. Send us some info and if you are a potential fit we'll look to make a match. You need to be ready for the commitment and the fact that hard work, long hours and low pay is still no guarantee that you will succeed, or even that there will be a long-term fit between you and the founders.
